Walking route Beesel – The Huurvaarders Path

The Huurvaarders Path is a short circular walk of 3.8 kilometres starting from the Market Square in Beesel. You follow quiet paths past fields, meadows and woodland edges, with wide views over the Meuse Valley. Soon you’ll reach Mortelpark, then the route winds on towards the windmill De Grauwe Beer – a striking landmark in the landscape.

In the footsteps of the ‘Huurvaarders’

The name of the path refers to the former Huurvaarders: people who transported timber across the Meuse. Today, you walk in their footsteps through a landscape full of stories. An accessible route filled with greenery, history and scenic views.
