Water Walking World - Premium Hiking Trail Leudal

The Premium Hiking Trail Leudal is one of the trails in the Water Walking World. You walk through the Leudal nature reserve, with stream valleys, deciduous forests and heathlands. The 14.2-kilometre route follows the Tungelroyse Beek and the Zelsterbeek. Along the way, you pass cultural and historical sites such as the Sint Ursula Mill and the Sint Elisabeth monastery farm.

Walking through streams and woodland

The route takes you right through the Leudal area, following the Tungelroyse Beek and Zelsterbeek. You walk through forests, heath and open meadows. Highlights include the Sint Ursula Mill, the Litsberg viewpoint and the Sint Servaas Chapel on a hill.

Traces of the past

You pass the old Sint Elisabeth Monastery and Café Busjop, a place full of stories. The monastery farm and the Leudal Museum also lie along the route. The combination of nature and history makes this walk special in every season.

Plants, birds and beavers

This water-rich landscape is home to rare plants like marsh marigold and golden saxifrage. You may spot kingfishers, woodpeckers deer and even beavers. No two hikes are the same.
