The Linde by the Roer
From this bench in the small hamlet of Lerop you look at the Roer. Not man, but nature itself is the architect here. This landscape already looked something like this when the Romans lived here. At this spot, the river forms the border between Roerdalen and Roermond. Here the Roer flows through a strip between two faults in the earth's crust. Because of this, earthquakes sometimes occur in this area.
