Biketour: Swalm-Maas

The municipality of Brüggen is located directly on the Dutch-German border, in the middle of the Maas-Schwalm-Nette Nature Park. In the centre of Brüggen you will find the castle from 1289, which houses the Man and Hunting Museum, the tourist information office and an information point of the Maas-Schwalm-Nette Nature Park. The castle is also home to a water mill built in the same year. Another place of interest in Brüggen is the Kruisheren Monastery (now the town hall) and the associated St. Nicholas Church (formerly the monastery church). In the summer months, all kinds of activities take place near the castle, such as "Brüggen Klassiek" (Brüggen Classical) and various theatre performances. Hospitality is important in Brüggen. You can enjoy delicious food from simple to very extensive in a beautiful historical setting. And if you want to stretch your legs after a good meal, you can enjoy more than 120 km of cycling and hiking trails. On the way, you will experience the typical landscape of the "Lower Rhine".
